Volunteers Are Vital!
The Wenatchee River Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization that owns and operates Barn Beach Reserve. We receive monetary support from foundations, government agencies, and individual donors. The Institute has only one fulltime employee: an executive director, and four part-time employees: an education coordinator, an education assistant, a naturalist, and an administrative assistant.
Our school programming requires a large cadre of dedicated adult volunteers in order to work effectively. These volunteers are essential in helping to deliver our unique experiential education curriculum to young people. In addition, volunteers help us with maintenance of the BBR buildings and grounds and with clerical tasks. We simply cannot do this important education and conservation work without the support of dozens of committed volunteers. Please consider joining our Wenatchee River Institute team!

Donors Make It Happen!
Everything at the Institute, from the land to the buildings of the Reserve, to the staff and programs is made possible by the generosity of donors. To help us pay the bills, please donate to the Institute. (Donations may be made to Wenatchee River Institute, PO Box 2073, Leavenworth, WA 98826) Your donations are tax deductible (Tax ID# 20-5611326)!
Using PayPal: You may designate your donation to a particular category at the Wenatchee River Institute by clicking the link below, and following the easy instructions. Just before you click the final "submit" you will have the option to "Add special instructions to the seller." In this case, the "seller" is Wenatchee River Institute. This is where you may designate that you want your donation used only for the Education Program, Bird Fest, LIFE2 ,Think Local First, The E. Lorene Young Community Garden, or lighting for the Watershed Art Collection. You do not have to choose a category, and in that case your donation will be credited to general program support.
